- First, turn off Microsoft Outlook before continuing with the next step.
- Now, open the Run Dialog Box by pressing Windows + R key combo.
- Here, type outlook.exe /safe and click on OK. This will open Outlook in safe mode.
- Click on the default Outlook option in the Choose Window; click on OK.
- You will see the Coming Soon toggle at the top right corner; turn it off.
- Now, exit Outlook to exit the safe mode.
- After exiting Outlook in safe mode, launch Outlook the normal way.
Move Outlook Toolbar From Side to Bottom by Unchecking Show Apps In Outlook Checkbox
Another way to move Outlook Toolbar from side to bottom is by unchecking the show apps in the Outlook checkbox. You can continue with this method if the above steps don’t do the work. Follow the steps given below to do so-
- Press the Windows key on your keyboard and search for Microsoft Outlook. Press Enter to launch Microsoft Outlook.
- Click on the File button at the top bar and then click on Options.
- Next, click on the Advanced tab.
- Under the Outlook Panes tab, you will see the Show Apps In Outlook checkbox; uncheck it.
- Now, click on OK to save the changes.
- You will see a prompt for restarting Outlook; click on OK. This will restart the Outlook.
- Once done, the toolbar will be moved from the side to the bottom.
Move Outlook Toolbar From Side to Bottom By Changing The Registry
You make the changes to the Registry to undo all the changes done to Outlook with the new update, even the change in the position of the Toolbar from bottom to left. You could follow this method if the above method doesn’t work. This is how you can do it-
- Press Windows + R key combo to open the Run Dialog Box. Type regedit in the Run Dialog Box, and click on OK. This will open the Registry Editor on your PC.
- Navigate to the following path within the Registry Editor-
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\OverridesHere, on the right side, look for Microsoft.Office.Outlook.Hub.HubBar string.
- If you don’t see the above string, right-click on the empty space, hover over New, and then click on String Value. Set the name of the new String Value as Microsoft.Office.Outlook.Hub.HubBar
- Double-click on the new string you have created to edit it.
- Under the Value Data, type False and click on OK.
- Now, close the Registry Editor and restart your PC.
- Once done, launch the Outlook app, and the toolbar should be moved to the bottom.
