Many reported iPhone cellular data problems on iOS 15, and itโs a common issue after the update. Apple designed the product and used premium components to increase the lifespan of the devices. It is less likely that your iOS device is suffering from hardware failure. Of course, the software has a task to communicate with the hardware and create a seamless line for the entire process to work.

Fix Cellular Data Not Working Problems iPhone
We have addressed all issues to resolve the cellular data problems in iOS 15 devices.
Clean SIM Card
My current main SIM card is older than five years and the previous SIM card was seven years old. I had to replace the old card with the new one after several years of usage. Physical SIM cards are made out of universal integrated circuit card (UICC) physical smart card. It is a combination of PVC with embedded contacts and semiconductors.
The UICC card might have worn off or required periodic cleaning so it can function smoothly. Carry a SIM ejector and dry microfiber cloth to wipe the SIM card.
- Turn off iPhone.
- Remove the card with the ejector.
- Clean the card with a dry microfiber cloth.
Take your time and wipe it gently without applying any force.
- Reinsert the SIM card in the iPhone.
Turn on the device, and it will resume mobile internet services without errors. You can contact the carrier and ask them to replace the physical card or eSIM is a good viable option for you.
Enable LTE Services
LTE is the next-gen service to enable millions of users to communicate with each other efficiently. Enable LTE services in the iOS device and you have to select 3G, 4G, or 5G manually in the settings. Let me show you how to enable LTE services and choose the correct connection.
- Tap the โSettingsโ app.
- Select โMobile Dataโ or โCellular Dataโ to view more.
- Tap to enable the โCellular Dataโ or โMobile Dataโ feature.
- Tap on โMobile Data Optionsโ to reveal more options.
- Choose โVoice & Dataโ to view more.
- Select the connection, and it is 4G in my case.
You can enable LTE or VoLTE services if your carrier supports it. Mobile internet should work by now. You can check out other solutions suggested below if it doesnโt solve the mobile data issue.
Turn Off LDM
Low Data Mode is designed to disable background apps and services to utilize mobile data services. The LDM restricts apps from using an internet connection and blocks apps from syncing. Of course, it is an exceptional effort to save internet package data in the iPhone.
- Tap the โSettingsโ app.
- Select โMobile Dataโ or โCellular Dataโ to view more.
- Make sure the โCellular Dataโ or โMobile Dataโ feature is enabled.
- Tap on โMobile Data Optionsโ to reveal more options.
- Tap to disable โLow Data Modeโ.
You have successfully mobile data restriction in the iOS system. Make sure to avoid using the internet package to the maximum limit, which forces you to enable LDM again.
Contact Carrier Customer Care
Itโs not uncommon for your telecommunication company to stop the services or have unknown errors that are causing mobile internet problems.
I recommend you to contact customer care for further information. There might be an add-on package in the account or bandwidth limit.
Open your carrier dedicated app and talk to the support team. You can find the network telephone number on the official site and open a ticket.
Update Carrier Settings
The world has opted for a different network spectrum that suits the environment and available technology in the country or nation. So the approach towards mobile internet connectivity is also different in many parts of the world. Carriers used to send the mobile internet configuration via SMS back in the day.
You no longer have to fetch the internet configuration manually now that smartphones have gotten smarter. You can update the carrier settings on the iOS device.
- Tap the โSettingsโ app.
- Choose the โGeneralโ setting.
- Select the โAboutโ device to continue.
- Carrier configuration update should show up in the โAboutโ section.
Unfortunately, itโs not present in my case, so I could not show you how to update it. The install button shows up in the About section, and tap on it to save the network settings.
Enable/Disable Airplane Mode
Turning on Airplane Mode in the iOS device will put the network to sleep. You should let the device experience the calm period for a while and then turn it back on.
Step 1: Tap the โSettingsโ app.
Step 2: Tap โAirplane Modeโ to turn it on.
Wait for a minute.
Step 3: Tap โAirplane Modeโ to turn it off.
Network connections restored in the iPhone and mobile internet should have been fixed by now. Do not worry if the cellular data is not working on the iOS device because I have shown you the last restore below.
