Fixing Windows 11 Widgets Not Working Problem

Make Sure the Widgets are Turned ON
Many users cannot be able to locate the Widgets button on their taskbar. Itโs because the widgets button in their version of Windows might not be activated. Usually, the widgets button is not enabled by default, and you will need to enable it manually in order to view the widgets option in the taskbar.
To enable the widgets button on the taskbar, follow the steps given below-
- Right-click on the taskbar, and then click on the taskbar settings.
- You will be headed to the taskbar settings page. Here you will see the Show Widgets button toggle. Enable it, and you will be able to see the Widget button on your taskbar.

To disable the graphics driver, and then enable it again, follow the steps given below-
Step 1. Click on the start icon or press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the start menu on your PC. Now in the start menu, search for device manager and open it.
Step 2. You will see a list of all the hardware on your PC displayed on the device manager.
Step 3. Double-click on the Display adapters to expand it.
Step 4. You will see the graphics card on your PC. Mostly there will be one graphics card lister under the display adapters. If your PC has a dedicated graphics card and an integrated graphics card, you may see two graphics cards listed there.
Step 5. Right-click on the graphics card, and then click on properties.ย
Step 6. In the properties, go to the driverโs tab and click on disable device to disable the driver. You will have to do this individually for all the graphics cards on your PC. Once done, click on OK to close it.
Step 7. Now click on the widgets button, and you will be able to use widgets on Windows 11.
This will fix the Windows 11 widgets not working issue.

- Visit the device manager, and then expand the display adapters by double-clicking on it.

Sign Out And Sign In To Your PC

- Click on theย Startย icon on the taskbar.
- Now, click on your name in theย Start Menu, and then from the menu that appears, click onย Sign out.ย

Restart Windows Explorer

Switch To Microsoft Account

- Open theย Settingsย app on your PC. To open theย Settingsย app by press the Windows + Iย key combo.

- If you see this option-ย Sign in with a Microsoft account insteadย then you are signed in with the Local account.

Enable Widgets From Group Policy

- Open theย Runย dialog box on your PC. You can do it by pressing theย Windows + Rย key combo.
- In theย Runย dialog box, search forย gpedit.mscย and hitย Enterย to openย Group Policy Editorย on your PC.
- Here on the right side, click on theย Computer Configuration.
- Now on the left side, expand theย Administrative Templatesย by clicking on the arrow right next to it.

I get message stating i need to sign in with a Microsoft account. I am signed in with a hotmail account. Signing out and backin doesnt help, it only logs you out from the system.
Anyone else got perhaps a solution for this. I dont see any other settings under Settings > Accounts > Manage

Worked. But after restart I needed to enable video driver again but the widgets have gone again.

When I became a beta tester and installed Windows 11, the widget’s window would open; however, about a week after the installation, this bell & whistle went south for the summer. None of the above suggestions have worked. I am hoping that later updates will resolve this issue.

Disabling display drivers works but as soon as you restart system once again widgets stop working so again you have to do that display drivers thing. I hope windows will bring end to this issue with future updates.
