It is true that forwarded messages on WhatsApp have a Forwarded label; however, the sender can also avoid it by copying-pasting it. If a message has been forwarded many times, this method can be used to get it back out there again.

Messages sent via forwarded links cannot be circulated more than five times after the sender, it can be copied and pasted, then rendered as a ‘new message.’ After that, you can only send the forwarded message to one chat at a time if you want it to reach up to five more chats.

Does anyone know if you forwarded their message?

Unlike WhatsApp, you will not be notified if your message has been forwarded; however, you can find out if your message has been forwarded in one way.

The only way you can know if someone has forwarded your WhatsApp message to you is if they have accidentally sent it back. Because there is no notification, there is no way to tell who has forwarded your message. But, still, I have found the following steps really helpful in order to know a bit about forwarded messages. So, let’s them out:

1. On your smartphone, open WhatsApp, go to the desired chat and find the message that causes you concern.
2. From the context menu, tap and hold the message, then choose Info.
3. In the case of a message not being forwarded, only the time of sending and reading will be displayed.
4. There will be a counter with the exact number of times the message has been forwarded if the message has been forwarded.

There is no difference between text, voice, video, or photo messages when it comes to this counter. Furthermore, you can track not only your own forwards but also those of other people.

How To Forward Messages Without A Label

You would tap the arrow at the top of the screen to select the text on the chat that you wish to forward and then long-tap it to select the text. 

It would be a mistake to trust your instincts when your message would be stigmatized as forwarded. 

You can instead tap the three dots in the top right corner of your screen and select the Copy option by long-tapping the message you want to resend. It will notify you that the message is now in your clipboard, so you can use it however you see fit. 

You can resend it by long-pressing on the message field in the recipient’s chat until you see the option to paste the message. You can paste it and send it. 

It’s the same process to resend a file, video, or photo. Thereafter, tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen to open the options by long-pressing on the document. You’ll see that copy is not an option; instead, click Share. Next, you’ll be taken to the sharing screen, where you can choose another messaging app if you prefer. In case your preferred chat isn’t there, choose WhatsApp at the bottom of the menu and select your desired contact.
