There are so many series available on streaming platforms that you can find relatable, but Aggretsuko just hits right in the feels. The anime was adored because how relatable it was to its very core would leave you chuckling with a bittersweet realization. The series was well-loved and some fans opine that the hype was rather underwhelming!Â
From screaming death metals to coping with the inevitable sorrow of corporate slavery to just wholesome moments with office buddies and a nice lunch, the anime was hilariously close to reality. The third season was released more than a year ago in August of 2020 on Netflix. Ever since then, the fans are on the edge of their seats for a new season. However, no news or rumors about Aggretsuko knocked the year. Don’t throw the towel yet, as we may have some tea on Aggretsuko season 4!
Aggretsuko Season 4 Release Date
The news of Season 4 ignited the hype around the series again when Netflix decided to upload the announcement poster on its Twitter account. It features adorable Retsuko donned in a red dress and a Santa hat, announcing the news on a microphone. The endearing anime comedy series initially aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System Television between April 2016 and March 2018 as an animated shorts series by Fanworks.
Although no dates have been confirmed for the release, the good news is that there IS a season 4. Moreover, while a release date for Season 4 is still to be revealed, it is quite probable that it will knock streaming platforms sometime later this year, probably in the autumn or winter of 2021. Treat this knowledge with a grain of salt, as it is merely an optimistic guess.

Aggretsuko Season 4 Cast
There has been no official confirmation of the cast for season 4, it would be a dampener if the OG characters did not make a comeback. The anime is available in both Japanese and English, with ingenious dialogues and cast members coloring these characters in nuanced shades.
Kaolip is the voice actor for Retsuko in Japanese and the English dubbing has been done by Erica Mendez. Relicho adds the killer vocals in Japanese for our beloved death metal enthusiast and the English ones have been looked after by Jameson Boaz.
Season 4 would be a bummer without these artists coming together again to complete the beautiful series. Japanese voice actor Sauta Aarai of director Ton and English counterpart Josh Petersdorf will hopefully make a comeback too.
Reina Inuay, Kellyn Gault, Shingo Kato, Ben Diskin, and the rest of the regular cast will undoubtedly return to their microphones as Aggretsuko Season 4 is set to be confirmed. If and when the season ultimately works its way to Netflix for universal streaming, it will be intriguing to discover who made it and if there are fresh characters to grace the season.
What can we expect from Aggretsuko Season 4? (Some spoilers)
While the makers sit on the fence with the season’s release date, a piece of good news swarmed the fans of the show on Twitter. Netflix’s official account tweeted about the return of Retsuko, Haida, and Fenneko in the upcoming season. Although the makers have kept mum on the storyline, the announcement poster hints at Retsuko overcoming hurdles that surround her musical career. Boss lady who?
Season 3 was filled with Retsuko and her band members taking up on the challenges thrown in their ways. It also went over the bit where Retsuko lands in a financial lacuna and decides to play a secret role of a member of a Japanese idol group.
It also ended the relationship of Haida and Retsuko on a rather vague note. Retsuko, the protagonist, is a 25-year-old anthropomorphic red panda who sidestepped all advances by Haida, who is a spotted hyena. Viewers were invested in their storyline, but unfortunately, it is where the season wrapped up last year.
With a new season comes new hope. Fans of the show expect them to finally hit it off in the fourth installment. They are colleagues and work in a trading firm in Japan. They have been there for 5 years. It would be interesting to watch the characters develop a bond and have more depth to their relationship.

Since the series has always premiered on Netflix, and the news of season 4 was announced by the platform, it is safe to say that season 4 will also be featured on Netflix as well. If things go as planned, you can hopefully have a watch party with your friends by the end of this year!

Retsuko has a boring job that she hates and finds herself buried under tons of work and stress. (If that is not the most relatable thing ever) She takes up karaoke as a way to bust some stress but ends up being a metal superstar! It is interesting to follow her journey as the series, in its own adorable format, makes her and all other fluffy animals deal with their problems.
