Ukrainian technology higher institution SET University has announced scholarships that will cover 70% to 90% of tuition fees. The university opens ten grant places for Ukrainian students in two master’s programs: ”Cyber Defense” and ”Computer Science and Innovation Engineering”. Sergey Tokarev, the founder of SET University and Roosh, told about the new educational opportunities on Facebook.
In the cyber security and computer science courses, students will have the opportunity to study cyber defense, blockchain technologies, and artificial intelligence. Some of the modules will explain the processes of technology project management.
SET University, together with the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the University of California, Berkeley, has created entrepreneurial programs to provide students with all the opportunities to create innovative solutions. As part of the thesis, the students will need either to create a startup in a university accelerator or develop an IT solution for a tech company.
The university will allocate five scholarships for each of the programs. The competition is open to representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine (both active servicemen and those who are in reserve or retired), children of combatants, Ukrainian women who seek to develop in IT, and internally displaced persons who have left the temporarily occupied territories or war zones. Earlier, Sergey Tokarev noted that he initiated and financed five places within the scholarship program for students of Master’s and MicroMaster’s courses. Such grants fully cover studies. The businessman emphasized that education is the key to a bright future, and therefore any contribution to it today is a contribution to the rebuilding of Ukraine.
SET Scholarship is a charitable initiative aimed to provide Ukrainian men and women with the opportunity to obtain an IT education.
Scholarships are funded by benefactors—both individuals and companies. The SET University plans to expand the scholarship program so that every citizen and organization who is interested in the initiative can participate in funding grants that will make quality education more accessible to Ukrainians.
Also, SET University, together with the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the University of California, Berkeley, is conducting ‘Leading with Confidence in the AI World’, a free training for Ukrainian women in business analytics. The three-day event will start on August 30 and will be held offline in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The workshop will be conducted by Gauthier Vasseur, a director and professor at the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Analytics. He teaches business leaders to use Data Science and analytics when developing and implementing business strategies. Women citizens of Ukraine with IDP status, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard, as well as founders of economic or charitable projects, can take part in ‘Leading with Confidence in the AI World.’ You can apply for the workshop until August 18.
Business analytics training is the first joint event of SET University and UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Analytics. However, they also have plans for further cooperation and to create a long-term program on innovation and entrepreneurship and some other events.
