Cognizance – The Annual Tech Extravaganza of IIT Roorkee, has provided a podium for engineering innovations and raw ideas to echo over the last 16 glorious years and has set new benchmarks of quality. This year’s edition is scheduled to be held from March 15 – March 17, 2019. With the theme “Unwinding Chaos”, it is our ambition to throw a spotlight on our small actions and contributions in reference to the bigger picture that we want to conceive.
A plethora of 150+ events ranging from technical, robotics and innovations to business, finance and gaming along with workshops, guest lectures by some of the most eminent personas, exhibitions, techtainment nights, and much more, Cognizance has established its brand over the years to acquire a social media outreach of more than 400,000 students.
Cognizance believes that it’s equally important to give back to the society we live in. With this belief, we present this year’s social initiatives, HASI (Health and Sanitation Initiative), Revival of Rivers, Uttarakhand Talent Search Examination and Think Before Throwing based on Plastic Waste Management.
Bharat Panchal, head of Risk Management National Payments Corporation of India, Jeremie Lasnier, Co-Founder and Chief Creative officer at LiveLike and Dr.Prashant Jha, Fellowship Director of Medical Device Innovation Program, were the keynote speakers of the past editions. The enthralling techtainment nights still reminisce the presence of Biswa Kalyan Rath, Guru Randhawa, Diego Miranda, and Aron Chupa.
Cognizance has witnessed the exhibitions of various teams and organizations, some of them being FUmanoids, EPSON MOVERIO BT-300, Microsoft Surface Pro 4, ISRO, InMoov, Pluto Mini-Drone, SAMSUNG GADGET EXPO, Equinox Planetarium, and Sudaksh.
Cognizance has been under the proud patronage of renowned organizations like UNESCO, USERC, and SAYEN. Extending the reach of this extravaganza abroad, Cognizance has successfully collaborated with British Standards, Australian Govt. Dept. Of Education and Technology, Study In Australia, University of Alberta, The University of Sheffield and World Wildlife Fund in the past. Some of the most renowned firms like Microsoft, Reliance, IBM, NBCC, Codechef, SBI, PNB, and Samsung have been the proud sponsors of the fest.
We, at Cognizance, believe in creating histories which are not possible without something new. Changes have always been the source of attraction for the participants. Thus, to extend the horizons of thinking, a new edition of Literature and Arts Festival was introduced the previous year, encompassing a spectrum of multifarious events, workshops by big names like A.I.B., Rekhta, British Council and The Anonymous Writer, Panel discussions, Lit.A.F. Night and Jashn-e-Adab.
